The year 2019 was most notable for winning the 2019 Quebec City Heritage Award. Thanks to the project Discover my city, Robinson Ngametche received this award and the jury underlined the originality of this social and cultural innovation project. The project aims to facilitate the integration of immigrants newly settled in Quebec City by offering them guided tours of Quebec City's cultural heritage, which highlight the contribution of immigrant communities to the city's development.
Our releases of the year 2019
In addition, there were several outings in the summer of 2019. For the visit of the patrimonial circuit Discover my cityThree groups of an average of 15 people completed the tour this summer. Robinson Ngametche was invited by Chantal Defoy to give a conference at the Mérici College as part of the course Intercultural communication from the Special Education program, where he presented his personal story and immigrant experience before presenting the heritage journey Discover my city, and the activities of the organization. The students learned how to interact with newcomers to facilitate their integration into their new society. Some testimonials from these students regarding the conference are included in the appendix of this report.
